Job Summary:

The Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in our Energy and Industry Business Unit, working on various projects and collaborating with engineers and other technicians. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and organize detailed technical drawings and plans
  • Work effectively in a hybrid work environment
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to perform field assessments and inspections
  • Accurately measure existing conditions and document quantities
  • Ensure construction projects are completed in accordance with Construction Contract Documents
  • Maintain project records and log daily construction activities
  • Travel to job sites, mostly within 100 miles, to perform field work

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Drafting, Civil Technology, or related field
  • 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel to job sites
  • Pass a criminal/civil background check and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience developing structural plans and detail drawings
  • Previous inspection or field work experience
  • MSHA or MNDOT certifications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative group
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external disciplines
