About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power and Project Finance Associate to join our team at BankTalent HQ. As a key member of our Power and Project Finance Group, you will be responsible for structuring and executing custom financing solutions for owners of power generation assets and power-related infrastructure projects across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial modeling and analysis to identify key risks and assist senior bankers with loan structuring and pricing.
  • Preparing extensive written credit analysis and assisting with credit presentations.
  • Providing analytical, underwriting, and marketing support during the origination and execution of new lending opportunities.
  • Reviewing loan documentation and due diligence materials.
  • Staying informed of financial and market trends in the power and energy industry and its impact on new opportunities and the existing portfolio.
  • Applying all applicable credit policies and internal processes for the execution and funding of new transactions.
  • Developing relationships and credibility with key internal constituents and external clients.
  • Acting as primary account officer on assigned transactions within the portfolio, including maintaining accurate risk ratings, executing amendments, and preparing monitoring materials.
  • Assisting with the training, development, and work review of other analysts and associates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field and 4+ years of experience in commercial lending, investment banking, project finance advisory, or relevant buy-side experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of project finance, power generation, project development, structured finance, leveraged finance, investment banking, or private equity investing.
  • Proven ability to organize multiple demands on time and assist with the oversight, training, and development of junior bankers.
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of proficiency producing written analysis of financial statements, modeling outputs, and key risks and mitigating factors.
  • Strong analysis and Excel-based financial modeling skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility with new people and cultivate relationships.
