Role Summary:
The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) division is seeking a talented Electrical Power Systems Specialist to enhance our team in El Segundo, California. This role is integral to the Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SIWS) Team, which is focused on developing cutting-edge products and services for both commercial and government clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives that promote effective communication regarding potential challenges and necessary support to ensure swift resolution of issues impacting performance.
- Facilitate the prompt resolution of technical challenges and discrepancies to fulfill program objectives.
- Oversee power systems operations, including the evaluation and validation of power system test results, addressing anomalies at various operational levels.
- Collaborate with program stakeholders, suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Guide junior engineers in technical expertise, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct power system analyses and comparative studies to identify optimal system architectures.
- Ensure subsystem designs align with program specifications.
- Lead critical design reviews and direct Root-Cause/Corrective Action investigations.
- Organize and chair Independent Review Teams (IRT's).
- Assess and advocate for innovative technologies and methodologies.
Work Environment:
To comply with security protocols, all activities are conducted onsite in El Segundo, CA.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering related to system requirements, design, analysis, and operations of space or ground systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical power and harness subsystems related to space applications.
- Familiarity with the design and testing of space-based electrical power systems.
- Experience in conducting trade studies and simulations to predict performance of space-based power systems.
- Knowledge of analog and/or digital circuit design for power systems.
