Position Overview:
Mattel is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to become a vital member of our Franchise Finance Accounting team.
This role is essential in providing support to the Digital Gaming and Mattel Films/TV divisions, as well as managing consolidation tasks for the out-licensing segment.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the licensing sector and its significance within Mattel. The analyst will collaborate with Global licensing teams and coordinate with various cross-functional partners throughout the organization.Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and implement accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 810/323) for proposed business transactions and activities.
- Develop and sustain financial models that facilitate long-term planning processes, including new transactions and projects.
- Conduct research and analysis on technical accounting matters, providing management with recommendations and solutions.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to evaluate the accounting implications of business decisions and to construct accounting models.
- Support both internal and external audit processes, which includes preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.- Oversee and coordinate Licensee audits conducted by third-party providers.
- Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to protect financial data and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Assist in crafting financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA/CPA candidate preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with a Master's degree) in technical accounting, financial analysis, and audit processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail and precision.
- Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems (Oracle/HPT).
- Familiarity with trends in the entertainment industry, accounting regulations, and best practices is advantageous.
- A demonstrated growth mindset characterized by curiosity, continuous learning, and a willingness to embrace challenges.
The annual base salary range for this position is between $104,000 and $130,000. This range is indicative of the projected hiring range; however, the annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills, and experience.
