Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 7:30am-2pm
Key Responsibilities:

As a Support Specialist, you will collaborate with Related Services, the Behavior Department, and Classroom staff to provide tailored assistance. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assessing student progress and providing feedback.
  • Documenting observations and insights regarding assigned students.
  • Facilitating communication between parents, program staff, and external professionals as needed.
  • Assisting in the collection and analysis of behavioral data for designated students.
  • Supporting classroom instruction through individual and group activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Delivering personalized guidance and supervision for students in various settings.
  • Helping teachers with organizational tasks, including classroom setup.
  • Ensuring student safety during all activities, including transportation and outdoor play.
  • Overseeing classroom activities in the absence of the teacher when required.
  • Implementing behavior management strategies in collaboration with the team.
  • Assisting with additional tasks such as medication administration and data collection as assigned.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with children in a special needs educational environment is essential.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and fingerprinting.
