Role Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) in the Systems Lab at Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) plays a crucial role in supporting fabrication planning and installation. Responsibilities include conducting design reviews, authoring manufacturing plans, sourcing fabrication (both internally and externally), and collaborating with procurement while tracking progress. This position primarily focuses on the Systems lab test design and fabrication initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to deliver cohesive technical solutions across various disciplines.
  • Create and document BT&E ME processes and tools for lab test programs, introducing new practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Formulate and maintain comprehensive manufacturing plans, Bills of Materials, work instructions, and illustrations to capture as-built configurations.
  • Devise and strategize manufacturing concepts to align with business objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data, and technology to fulfill manufacturing and delivery requirements.
  • Lead teams in assessing the producibility of design concepts.
  • Manage program work statements to ensure adherence to cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate with test Project Management, Design Engineering, and Program IE to develop and sustain an integrated build plan.
  • Provide support in creating build plans and schedules.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Design engineers and fabrication teams, while also liaising with procurement and supplier management personnel.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Management to define lab test integration requirements and identify opportunities.

Work Environment:

This position requires 100% onsite presence. The selected candidate will be expected to work at the designated location.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading or managing projects and/or teams.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in lab test, flight test, or similar testing environments.
  • Background in supporting commercial and military clients.
  • Project management experience.
  • Familiarity with Boeing BCA/BDS/BT&E Manufacturing Engineering practices in Systems Lab Test.
  • Experience with ME processes across various engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of PDM, CAPP, CMES, MESci, EPARTs, GOLDesp.
