Job Description

Apogee is in search of a Senior Systems Architect to join our team, dedicated to supporting Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) initiatives. Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert systems engineering guidance with a focus on requirements analysis, concept development, risk evaluation, and validation of space-based capabilities and associated sensor technologies.
  • Collaborate with management, budgeting teams, and engineering experts to devise technical solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Perform thorough requirements analysis and breakdown; convert military operational needs into detailed technical specifications, further decomposing them into subsystems and components with relevant performance metrics.
  • Assist in the creation and review of various technical documents to support deployment and operational testing processes.
  • Advise government counterparts on the clarity and adequacy of engineering and analytical processes based on practical application and reporting standards.
  • Research and evaluate emerging space technologies to align with evolving operational requirements.
  • Assess and propose technical solutions to fulfill operational needs, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering.
  • Utilize advanced tools to document and analyze the outcomes of complex tasks and activities.
  • Contribute to the development of Statements of Work and Statements of Objectives.
  • Conduct advanced engineering evaluations, including reviewing change proposals and assessing performance through technical analysis.
  • Deliver expert technical insights for status updates to leadership, detailing ongoing programs, challenges, and recommended solutions.
  • Support the management and traceability of requirements throughout the system lifecycle, from design to operational testing and maintenance.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS clearance with SCI eligibility

Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline

Experience: A minimum of 10 years in engineering, systems engineering, or systems integration, including:
  • 6 years of relevant experience in space programs, with a focus on sensor phenomenology and communication systems.
  • 5 years of technical experience applying RF theory.
  • 5 years of experience in engineering project management.
  • Strong understanding of National Reconnaissance Office overhead systems and associated processes.
  • Practical knowledge of tagging, tracking, and locating (TTL) systems, as well as surveillance and reconnaissance technologies.
  • Experience in early concept development, requirements analysis, design, testing, and risk assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Master's degree in a STEM field with 10 years of experience in engineering, systems engineering, or systems integration.
