Software Safety Engineer Role

At Raytheon Careers, we're seeking a highly skilled Software Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) group, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze software and firmware to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code
  • Work with program management and government approval authorities to gain concurrence with software builds
  • Perform software and firmware analyses, execute the software system safety program, and mentor junior engineers
  • Interface with stakeholders, prepare safety assessment reports, and brief software safety at technical reviews
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and a minimum 8 years of relevant software engineering or safety engineering experience
  • Experience with system safety engineering, system engineering, software or firmware engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent safety engineering
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
