The Accounting Manager will also provide support for audits, budgeting, and forecasting activities, while mentoring accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions and adjustments.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Review and approve reconciliations prepared by junior staff.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
- Implement recommendations from audit findings.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation and support for tax filings.
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Streamline accounting procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and train junior accountants and staff.
- Provide guidance and support on accounting issues and inquiries.
- Delegate tasks and oversee the completion of accounting assignments.
- Provide financial analysis and support for special projects as needed.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
