Position Overview:

As a Permanent Lead Survey Technician, you will have the rewarding opportunity to oversee a team of survey professionals within the engineering sector. This role demands a proactive individual capable of juggling multiple responsibilities while ensuring precision and effectiveness in all surveying tasks. You will be tasked with executing various land survey operations, which include accurately determining locations and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, cartography, land division, and other applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of survey technicians, prioritizing their safety and providing training on effective surveying methods and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough research of land records and historical survey data to gather necessary information for current surveys.
  • Execute right-of-way, control profiles, cross-sections, and topographic surveys.
  • Perform intricate calculations and measurements to establish property boundaries, elevations, and other geographical data.
  • Identify property corners, lines, and easements, marking them as required.
  • Generate detailed reports outlining surveying activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to ensure all surveying efforts align with project objectives and specifications.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and quality standards throughout all surveying operations.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments to guarantee their accuracy and reliability.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Survey Technician or in a comparable role within the engineering field.
  • Proficient in utilizing modern surveying tools, GPS technology, and AutoCAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude and spatial reasoning.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions and terrains.
  • A valid driver's license and readiness to travel as necessary.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification is preferred.
