Position Overview:

As a permanent Chief Surveying Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in leading our team of survey technicians within the engineering sector. This position demands a proactive individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities while ensuring precision and effectiveness in all surveying tasks. You will oversee various land survey operations, including the determination of exact locations and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for diverse applications such as construction, cartography, land division, and title services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of survey technicians, prioritizing their safety and providing training on proper surveying techniques and equipment usage.
  • Conduct thorough research of land records and historical survey data to gather necessary information for current surveys.
  • Execute right-of-way, control profiles, cross-sections, and topographic surveys.
  • Perform intricate calculations and measurements to ascertain property boundaries, elevations, and other geographical information.
  • Identify property corners, lines, and easements, marking them as required.
  • Generate detailed reports outlining surveying activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to ensure all surveying efforts align with project objectives and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and quality standards throughout surveying operations.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments to guarantee their accuracy and reliability.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or in a comparable role within the engineering field.
  • Proficient in utilizing modern surveying tools, GPS technology, and AutoCAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Advanced mathematical skills and spatial reasoning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and terrains.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is preferred.
