Position Overview

The role of the Foster Care Licensing and Recruitment Specialist is vital in the process of identifying and supporting foster families. This position is responsible for guiding potential foster families through the licensing journey while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by Lutheran Services Carolinas.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and retention efforts for foster families.
  • Conduct regular home assessments for licensed families and multiple visits during the initial licensing phase.
  • Develop a strategic recruitment plan aimed at attracting foster families from nearby regions.
  • Organize and oversee pre-service and ongoing training sessions for families involved in the foster care program.
  • Manage the licensing process for prospective foster families.
  • Lead and coordinate continuous training opportunities for foster parents.
  • Provide expert consultation to case managers regarding foster home matters.
  • Collaborate in the placement process to match foster care needs with appropriate families.
  • Represent Lutheran Services Carolinas with professionalism and integrity within the community.
