Job Overview:

As a key member of our facilities team at FirstService Residential, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair all mechanical systems, equipment, and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our residents and staff.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Routinely inspect and report on the condition of floors, including roofs, to identify potential issues and ensure timely repairs.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed while performing work, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with building staff and management.
  • Perform routine painting and touch-up work as needed, including inspecting areas that require attention and advising management.
  • Complete daily work orders as scheduled, and maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform minor maintenance, repairs, and replacements in areas such as carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs.
  • Follow established safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least two years of general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance, or a related field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Multiple language fluency is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, following proper safety procedures.
  • Work in an upright standing position for extended periods, with full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Ability to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 14 feet on A-frames and 21 feet on extension ladders).
  • Ability to work in different environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and humidity.
  • Repeat various motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally.
