POSITION SUMMARY: The primary role of the Maintenance Technician is to maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for guests and staff. This includes performing repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep of the property while adhering to budgetary constraints and enhancing guest satisfaction.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Ability to deliver professional and courteous service to guests.
  2. Strong time management skills with the capability to work independently.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  4. Proficient in understanding and following both verbal and written instructions, with effective communication skills.
  5. General knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing.
  6. Ability to prioritize tasks and perform duties with minimal disruption to guests.
  7. Experience in operating small equipment.
  8. Availability to work on weekends.
  9. Previous experience in maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide assistance to guests in a professional manner.
  2. Execute job responsibilities efficiently while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  3. Conduct inspections of all hotel systems to ensure proper, safe, and efficient operation.
  4. Respond promptly to guest concerns and communicate resolutions effectively.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, and recommend external contractors when necessary.
  6. Maintain the property’s grounds, landscaping, and parking areas to ensure a clean and attractive environment.
  7. Complete scheduled maintenance tasks in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with brand standards.
  8. Carry out painting, carpentry, plumbing, and carpet cleaning as needed.
  9. Manage inventory of supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  10. Keep all storage, shop, and mechanical areas clean and secure.
  11. Develop a thorough understanding of the property and its facilities to effectively address guest inquiries.
  12. Adhere to all safety and security protocols to maintain a safe environment for both employees and guests.
  13. Keep supervisors informed of any significant issues or unusual occurrences.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
