Maintenance Manager Job Description

Allied Reliability is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for industrial equipment, production equipment, utility systems, and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs in accordance with equipment manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure timely execution of preventative maintenance tasks by maintenance technicians and operators.
  • Monitor the facility to ensure safety, security, and well-maintenance.
  • Coordinate and assign daily tasks with department supervisors for maintenance technicians.
  • Oversee and coordinate work request and work order programs for quality and timeliness.
  • Train and manage maintenance technicians on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machines, equipment, and structures using necessary tools.
  • Estimate and record costs for repairs and maintenance.
  • Develop training programs for utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems.
  • Contribute to the success of the organization through measurable objectives.
  • Support business planning for future building and equipment investments and expansions.
  • Manage projects, directing staff and/or working with general contractors.
  • Develop a continuous improvement plan for the maintenance department.
  • Promote general plant safety, food safety, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Report issues related to the food safety management system to the quality assurance manager or executive leadership team.
  • Apply OSHA programs and safety operating practices, including machine guarding, lockout/tag-out, personal protective equipment, and safe maintenance practices.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate/OSHA standards.
  • Manage spare parts and maintenance materials inventory.
  • Develop an annual maintenance budget for approval and work within approved budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a maintenance manager or supervisor in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
  • Must hold a Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) license or be eligible to obtain immediately.
  • Must hold a Master class Boiler License.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, drawings, and P&ID documents.
