Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Facilitator to join our team at Centers for Independence. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering workshops and seminars to program participants related to basic computer skills and employment skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging workshops and seminars to participants on basic computer skills and employment skills, including resume writing and interview preparation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, monitoring their engagement and progress through mutual planning and problem-solving with case management.
  • Create curriculum units and supplemental components that are relevant, engaging, and easily comprehended by participants.
  • Prepare and present training programs in a clear and concise manner, using expertise to address special issues affecting participants.
  • Provide job readiness screening and assessment, tracking attendance for participants in training sessions.
  • Continuously monitor and assess participant progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure knowledge transfer and applied understanding.
  • Support participants in achieving stability in employment and coordinate ongoing retention activities as needed.
  • Participate in work groups and committees to evaluate customer needs, improve services, and implement new service strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Two years of experience in training delivery, public speaking, or presentation delivery.
  • Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently.
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification or completed within the first 90 days of hire.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period.
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, or moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is constantly performed in an office environment.
  • Exposure to bright lights.
  • Interaction with individuals presenting with challenges or significant barriers to work.
  • Twisting, turning, reaching, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling throughout the day.
