Apex Systems is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Project Leader to oversee critical projects within the heavy industrial sector. This position is a FULL TIME/DIRECT HIRE opportunity. Position Overview:

The Electrical Project Leader will be tasked with managing all electrical components of projects in the cement manufacturing sector. This role encompasses the planning, design, execution, and finalization of electrical initiatives, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks. A robust technical foundation in electrical engineering, coupled with project management expertise and experience in heavy industry, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Oversight:

Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets for electrical initiatives.

Collaborate with various departments (mechanical, civil, process) to ensure cohesive project planning.

Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost control strategies.

Design and Engineering:

Lead the design and engineering efforts for electrical systems and components related to new installations, upgrades, and maintenance.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Review and validate electrical schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.

Procurement and Vendor Management:

Work alongside the procurement team to identify and source electrical equipment and materials.

Assess and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier relationships.

Ensure timely delivery and quality assurance of materials and equipment.

Project Execution and Monitoring:

Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.

Track project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.

Conduct regular site evaluations to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Team Leadership and Coordination:

Mentor and lead a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and contractors.

Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members.

Quality Assurance and Safety:

Implement and uphold quality assurance protocols for electrical projects.

Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety measures to mitigate hazards.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare and deliver regular project status updates to senior management.

Maintain thorough project documentation, including design files, progress reports, and change orders.

Ensure proper transition of completed projects to operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.

Experience:

A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical project management, ideally within the cement manufacturing or heavy industry sectors.

Skills:

Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Work Environment:

This role may require a mix of office and field work, with regular site visits and inspections. Occasional travel to suppliers or contractors may be necessary.
