Job Summary

UCLA seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to provide strategic support to the Vice Chancellor & Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the senior management team, working closely with the Vice Chancellor & CFO to drive university activities and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise the CFO on key policy and operational issues, representing them in discussions with campus senior leadership.
  • Make decisions on behalf of the VC CFO, ensuring effective communication with internal and external constituencies.
  • Direct and manage the assignment of action items to senior administrators, helping the Vice Chancellor & CFO manage their priorities.
  • Provide analytical support and leadership on various projects, maintaining confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with donors, alumni, employees, and other constituents, working collaboratively to incorporate their ideas and adapt to their needs.
Requirements
  • At least 12 years of high-level administration experience advising senior management and/or overseeing complex programs and projects at a large company or public institution.
  • Excellent ability to establish mission and goals at the macro-level, lead subordinate management, and develop goals in alignment with mission.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, human resources and risk management planning, accounting and payroll.
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports, policies, and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated management ability to direct and supervise professional and staff positions, train, motivate, and provide effective and sound judgment and leadership.
Education and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree (Required) or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Master's Degree or professional degree in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
