Electrical Project Manager

The Electrical General Foreman provides technical expertise for power-generating commissioning projects. This role involves supporting engineering review, procurement, construction, and start-up of high or medium voltage electrical systems and associated substations. The successful candidate will provide technical owner correspondence support, on-site supervision to ensure a safe, productive, and quality job, and schedule labor, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors within work discipline to effectively utilize all resources.
Primary Job Responsibilities:- Supervise and set direction for all Foremen and craft labor on-site to ensure best use of all company resources and adherence to company policies and state and federal regulations.
- Schedule equipment, materials, and tools to effectively utilize all resources and maximize production while minimizing costs.
- Manage, coach, train, and implement standardized Work Instructions, and assist the Trade Superintendent in process improvement efforts.
- Act as a technical consultant to all field personnel in areas such as electrical circuits, power quality, switchgear installations, transmission lines, inter-connect systems, and high voltage collection/distribution systems.
- Manage and be responsible for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, including enforcing company, jobsite-specific, federal, and state safety regulations.
- Communicate with the Trade Superintendent to update on project problem areas and the specific status of the project, and collaborate to plan and staff trade employees through the proper utilization of company resources, processes, and policies.
- Conduct oneself with a professional and respectful demeanor while interacting with all internal and external individuals, creating a collaborative environment with front-line supervision, craft, subcontractors, vendors, and the Owner to continually improve the company's delivery performance.
- Compare labor and equipment production and efficiency to the job estimate for specific discipline and inform the Trade Superintendent of cost over-runs and the utilization of company resources.
- Verify that project construction activities and project engineering are in conformance with the project Quality Plan and Work Methods, and establish, align, and communicate project specifications and craftsmanship expectations to all craft workers, vendors, subcontractors, and other agents.
- Mentor other professional positions such as Field Construction Coordinator/Field Engineers and Foremen on work discipline, production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety.
- Understand the scope of work per the contract.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- Maintain crew and equipment matrixes, comparing information back to established Work Plans and updating Operations Analysis as needed.
- Complete all necessary reports in a timely and legible manner, including Daily Reports, Quality documentation, Material Requests, and time sheets.
- Perform 10% Quality audits of all installed work or as otherwise detailed in the Project Quality Plan.
- Familiarize themselves with site conditions.
- Lead discipline work activities in the absence of the Trade Superintendent.
- Oversee all commissioning and testing activities.
- Assist in drafting the commissioning plan, LOTO plan, and Energization procedure.
- Oversee and manage energization of the PV plant.
- Coordinate energization with utilities and owners.
- Manage LOTO procedures and red rope delineation onsite.
- Review test documents and remediate as required.
- Assist the performance engineering team in performance testing.
