Deputy Project Leader Job Description

About the Role:

M.C. Dean is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Project Leader to support the overall strategy and execution of deliverables for complex projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring project completion and profitable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day project operations, including identifying and resolving change orders.
  • Price, track, and manage change orders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Plan and monitor cash flow against expenses to maintain project profitability.
  • Maintain as-builts and document project issues and conditions.
  • Develop and execute project completion plans, including punch lists.
  • Collaborate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve project-related matters.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, representing the company's interests.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering or a related field) with 5-7 years of experience.
  • Related construction experience with five years' working for an electrical or construction contractor.
  • Experience working on projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M.
  • Proficiency in contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Experience with CPM Scheduling and design techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills, with a proven ability to problem-solve and plan activities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Poly Security Clearance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Accubid Estimating or equivalent experience related to electrical installations.
  • Primavera P6 CPM Scheduling experience and proficiency.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
