Job Title: Electrical Superintendent

Duration: 12 Months Assignment (Contract to Hire)

Location: Kansas City MO

Overview:

The Electrical Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing field operations for designated projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and supervise specific segments of construction work within the assigned project area, ensuring effective scheduling of electrical activities by subcontractors.
  • Maintain job progress continuity and optimize efficiencies in the assigned area, overseeing various project activities including raceway installation, electrical panel setup, and control testing.
  • Ensure overall supervision of construction efforts, focusing on safety, productivity, material usage, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations related to electrical construction activities.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate project success.
  • Work closely with project management to develop and implement project procedures and standards, including authorization of purchase requisitions and design change requests.
  • Oversee project safety by regularly reviewing site-specific safety documentation and conducting safety audits.
  • Document daily construction progress through field reports and photographs, assessing future work activities and identifying potential concerns.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings and responses to RFIs.
  • Direct subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with the project schedule and verify progress on work completed.
  • Ensure material deliveries meet specifications and are stored correctly, coordinating with the Materials Manager as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the QA/QC Manager to confirm the qualifications of welders on site and witness equipment settings and alignments.
  • Conduct thorough walk-downs of systems prior to and during hydrostatic testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure the most current drawing revisions are utilized in the field and manage field change orders effectively.
  • Oversee craft supervision and project staffing as needed, ensuring efficient material and tool management on site.
  • Lead daily construction efforts in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.
  • Interpret isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&IDs as necessary, while performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the heavy industrial sector is essential; candidates with strictly commercial backgrounds will not be considered.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of construction management or craft supervision experience in electrical projects, or an Associate Degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, along with a solid safety background, are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is necessary.
  • Must meet the company's driving requirements and adhere to EEO guidelines.
