Job Title: Electrical Construction Supervisor

Duration: 12 Months Assignment (Contract to Hire)

Overview:

The Electrical Construction Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing field operations for designated projects, ensuring that each project is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Project Planning: Organizes and directs specific segments of construction work, focusing on electrical activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Efficiency Management: Maintains job progress and optimizes efficiency in the assigned area, overseeing various electrical work activities including installation and testing of equipment.
  • Supervision: Provides overall supervision of construction efforts, ensuring safety, productivity, and effective use of resources.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensures subcontractor adherence to contractual agreements related to electrical construction activities.
  • Client Relations: Develops strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Project Documentation: Works with project management to create and implement procedures and standards, including authorization of purchase requisitions and design change requests.
  • Safety Management: Responsible for the overall safety of the project, reviewing safety documentation and conducting regular audits.
  • Reporting: Completes daily reports and documents construction progress through photographs.
  • Future Planning: Assesses upcoming work activities and identifies potential concerns using subcontractor reports.
  • Documentation Development: Creates marked-up and as-built drawings for record-keeping and responds to requests for information.
  • Subcontractor Management: Directs subcontractors to align with project schedules and verifies progress against installed quantities.
  • Material Verification: Ensures that materials meet specifications and are stored correctly, coordinating with the Materials Manager as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborates with QA/QC Manager to confirm that all welders are qualified and that equipment is set up correctly.
  • System Compliance: Conducts walk-downs of systems to ensure compliance with specifications and oversees system testing.
  • Change Management: Understands and implements project scope changes and ensures field change orders are executed.
  • Staffing Oversight: Manages craft supervision and project staffing as necessary.
  • Material Management: Provides oversight of project site materials and tools.
  • Daily Operations: Supervises daily construction activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Technical Understanding: Reads and interprets technical drawings and specifications.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned and adheres to all company policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the heavy industrial sector is essential; candidates with strictly commercial backgrounds will not be considered.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of construction management or craft supervision experience in electrical projects is required.
  • Alternatively, an Associate Degree with 9 years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of experience will be accepted.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, along with a solid safety background, are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Candidates must meet the company's driving requirements and adhere to EEO principles.
