Position Overview

Health and Wellness Coordinator for Youth Development

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is in search of a committed Health and Wellness Coordinator for Youth Development. This role is dedicated to enhancing the ability of young individuals to adopt positive habits that promote their overall health and help them establish personal aspirations. As a vital member of our collaborative team, you will design, oversee, and execute a range of engaging activities and specialized programs centered on health and life skills.

Primary Duties:

  • Design and execute health and life skills initiatives for youth of varying ages, including programs such as Cybersafety, Date SMART, and Passport to Manhood, among others.
  • Attract and maintain youth participation in various programs.
  • Collaborate with club personnel to ensure program implementation throughout the academic year.
  • Monitor and document participant data for grant reporting purposes.

This role is essential in guiding members towards making informed decisions regarding their education, career paths, and health choices. By evaluating the developmental needs, interests, and traits of youth, tailored programs are created to foster a constructive club experience.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage in special events and programs.
  • Availability for evening and weekend duties may be required.
  • Possibility of driving the Club van (valid driver's license and clean driving record are necessary).
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of DCF Level II background check and drug screening.
  • Understanding of youth development principles.
  • Capability to inspire youth and manage behavioral challenges.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Work Environment:

This position typically operates Monday through Friday, during the hours of 8 AM to 7 PM, with the potential for occasional weekend and extended hours as necessary. Work settings include both indoor and outdoor environments.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • High energy levels as required.
  • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
