We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Professional - Art to join our team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising a variety of art programs for members of all ages.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development
- Plan and implement a range of art programs, including National Arts Contests, Drama Matters, Lyrism 101, Music Makers, Media Making, and National Photography Program.
- Recruit and retain youth for art programs.
- Work with other staff to implement programs throughout the school year.
- Program Administration
- Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, and attendance.
- Maintain a daily written schedule and ensure that programs begin and end on time.
- Health and Safety
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness of program areas.
- Maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies in good order.
- Relationships
- Maintain close, daily contact with club staff, volunteers, club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.
- Education
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.
- Ability to work with the public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific to The Arts.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Work Environment
- This position generally works Monday through Friday, between the hours of 2PM and 7PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time; bending and squatting on occasion.
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to hear at a normal conversational level.
- Ability to maintain a high energy level when necessary.
- High degree of emotional intelligence.
