The Healthcare Services Coordinator is integral to the effective delivery of medical services. This role acts as a bridge for patient care operations within the practice, ensuring high-quality service during patient interactions.

The Coordinator is responsible for educating patients about their treatment plans and coordinating with Primary Care Providers and outpatient diagnostic testing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with Primary Care Providers to enhance patient care plans through participation in daily meetings and monthly case reviews, facilitating appointments, and coordinating ongoing care needs.
  • Engages with clinical staff to address challenges affecting patient care progress.
  • Maintains and updates a dashboard with alerts and reminders to manage daily tasks, including visit status notifications, follow-up appointments, authorizations for medical reviews, and resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Communicates with insurance companies for patient pre-certifications and consults with management regarding patient needs or escalated concerns.
  • Provides front-desk support as necessary, documenting telephone interactions for appropriate routing to Providers.
  • Acts as a liaison among Physicians, patients, and clinical staff to connect patients with essential internal and external resources.
  • Offers suggestions for process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Some college education; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in healthcare or customer service, or a related field.

The Healthcare Services Coordinator II plays a vital role in the healthcare delivery system. This position serves as a key liaison for patient care activities, ensuring quality service during patient visits. The Coordinator II prioritizes tasks based on the needs of patients, families, and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Works collaboratively with Primary Care Providers to facilitate patient care plans, participating in daily huddles and monthly case discussions, managing appointments, and coordinating information and ongoing care requirements.
  2. Engages with clinical staff to resolve issues that may impact patient care progression.
  3. Monitors and updates a dashboard with reminders and alerts to organize daily tasks, including visit status reminders, follow-up appointments, authorizations for medical reviews, and resolving billing errors.
  4. Contacts insurance carriers for patient pre-certifications and consults with management regarding patient needs or escalated issues.
  5. Provides front-end coverage as needed, documenting telephone encounters for routing to appropriate Providers.
  6. Acts as a liaison with Physicians, patients, and clinical staff to connect patients with relevant internal and external resources.
  7. Offers recommendations for process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and address issues.
  8. Provides thoughtful and informative responses to patients while guiding them through their healthcare options.
  9. Maintains knowledge of medical terminology and practices through ongoing education.
  10. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in healthcare or customer service, or a related field.
