About This Role:

The Kansas State University Veterinary Health Center is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III to join our Oncology Service team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with veterinary students, interns, residents, and faculty clinicians to deliver medical and radiation oncology treatments.

Key responsibilities include facilitating treatment schedules, coordinating student orientations, and communicating with clients. You will have the opportunity to advance your skillset through continuing education, learning experiences, and subspecialty certifications recognized by NAVTA.

To be successful in this role, you will need to obtain a Kansas license as a Veterinary Technician within 6 months of employment. You must also be currently authorized to work in the United States.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the minimum qualifications for Veterinary Nurse I, II, or III. For Veterinary Nurse I, you will need to have completed a two-year college program in veterinary and animal technology accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. For Veterinary Nurse II, you will need to have completed a two-year college program and two years of relevant experience. For Veterinary Nurse III, you will need to have completed a two-year college program and five years of relevant experience as a veterinary technician.

Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with knowledge of basic veterinary medical concepts, animal behavior, and animal husbandry. You should be skilled in interpersonal and written communication, basic computer skills, and willing to master new techniques. You will also need to be able to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals, adhere to safety procedures, and work in a high-intensity environment.
