Job Overview

As a vital part of our cleaning team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our patients, families, visitors, and staff enjoy a pleasant environment by maintaining cleanliness in your designated area within Nicklaus Children's Health System.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas by:

  • Gathering necessary materials and restocking carts.
  • Removing waste and properly disposing of hazardous materials.
  • Disinfecting restrooms, including showers, sinks, and toilets.
  • Dusting and cleaning surfaces as required.

Responds promptly to spills and debris, ensuring immediate cleanup.

Ensures that all cleaning equipment is functioning properly.

Handles waste disposal and soiled linens appropriately.

Restocks supplies and linens as needed.

Reports any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions without delay.

Delivers exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Welcomes patients and families courteously upon entering their rooms.

Conducts specialized cleaning tasks, such as terminal cleanings, when necessary, which includes deep cleaning procedures using appropriate disinfectants, wiping down walls, cleaning under beds, high dusting, and changing curtains.

Responds to verbal cues, alarm signals, and communication devices within the designated time frame as instructed by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Capability to communicate effectively for supply requests and documentation.
  • Experience in housekeeping or maintenance is preferred.
  • Familiarity with floor care techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with clients and team members.
  • Capacity to follow straightforward instructions for repetitive tasks.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
