Position Overview

This role involves conducting Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations to produce three-dimensional images of tissues, organs, and other bodily structures utilized by radiologists for identifying irregularities, making diagnoses, and providing treatment to patients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Experience in Breast MRI is highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications Education:

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Licensure/Certification:

Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support is mandatory.

One of the following certifications is required:

  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR); or
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Capability to assist in lifting and/or maneuvering patients in collaboration with others to fulfill job responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts MRI examinations on patients: Prepares patients for MRI procedures, clarifies the process, administers contrast agents when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects suitable imaging techniques, and ensures the technical quality of the scans.

Records and monitors patient information.

Performs quality control on MRI equipment and related technology. May assist with initial and renewal applications for accreditation.

Identifies and reports any incidents, grievances, or equipment issues to management.

Participates in emergency on-call duties within the department.

Ensures safe care for patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards while managing resources effectively, including time, supplies, productivity, and service quality.

Encourages personal professional development by fulfilling requirements for ongoing education and skills competency; supports departmental objectives that contribute to the organization's success; serves as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff.

Demonstrates a commitment to caring for every individual in our community by fostering compassionate and personalized experiences. Exemplifies Memorial Hermann's service standards by delivering safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
