Amentum is actively seeking a Cyber Security Specialist IV to contribute to the PM Soldier Survivability (PM SSV) project office within the Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team focused on delivering advanced protection, individual equipment, and aviation life support capabilities that enhance combat effectiveness and support mission operations.

Note: This position is contingent upon award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for all cybersecurity and information technology components of the assigned program.
  • Conduct high-level system architecture design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Convert military operational and mission requirements across various domains (land, sea, air, and space) into actionable systems concepts and performance specifications.
  • Engage in post-award program reviews, design evaluations, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) as the cybersecurity engineering representative.
  • Assess design efforts from a cybersecurity perspective to ensure the integration of necessary cybersecurity solutions and the adequacy of analyses.
  • Develop and review cybersecurity-related testing plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, covering both government and contractor tests, as well as related failure reports.
  • Analyze system performance against cybersecurity specifications, monitor field performance, and evaluate risks associated with meeting user specifications and requirements.
  • Formulate and assess cybersecurity strategies for assigned programs.
  • Conduct security analyses and risk/vulnerability assessments.
  • Oversee daily certification and accreditation tasks for the project team.
  • Possess the experience and recognition within the cybersecurity community to lead initiatives on assigned programs and operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Serve as a consultant to team members and mentor staff on cybersecurity issues.
  • Review cybersecurity products, procedures, and system architectures from previous programs to develop innovative cybersecurity strategies.
  • Identify challenges and provide briefings to the Project Manager on potential solutions and their implications.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in operational Cyber Security accreditation and certification of embedded systems at the Secret level and below.
  • In-depth knowledge of AR 25-2 and the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), including recent experience in obtaining system accreditation using the DoD RMF and eMASS software.
  • Proven experience in preparing IA approval documentation and understanding systems engineering processes, along with significant experience in Network Security Architecture.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DoD standards governing the development of cybersecurity policies, requirements, integration, engineering, and certification processes.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret. US Citizenship is necessary to obtain a Secret Government Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • Security+ Certification.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, with flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of standard core hours.
