As a Cyber Security Specialist III, your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing extensive knowledge to oversee critical tasks and lead significant assignments, ensuring comprehensive support to the Project Manager Soldier Survivability.
  • Addressing all issues related to vulnerabilities and threats impacting Information Technology (IT) Systems, National Security Systems (NSS), and Automated Information Systems (AIS).
  • Implementing the Department of Defense (DOD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and assisting the System Security Manager (ISSM) in executing necessary security controls, reviewing all RMF documentation packages, and managing system fielding, operations, or upgrade requirements.
  • Supporting Program Management Offices with Cybersecurity-related acquisition documentation requirements, including Cybersecurity Strategies and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy mandates.
  • Coordinating the integration of Cybersecurity, COMSEC, and TEMPEST throughout the entire system life-cycle, from design to deployment.
  • Ensuring compliance with the DOD Inspector General (IG) Cybersecurity Self-Assessment checklist and the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
  • Implementing audit measures to verify adherence to regulatory requirements, participating in inspections and surveys of computer systems, and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.
  • Advising on complex computer security systems, recommending approvals for various computer operations based on security guidelines, and providing alternatives to management to meet security needs tailored to the organization and mission.
  • Assisting in the development, maintenance, implementation, and delivery of a formal training and education program for computer and information security requirements, as well as the operation and maintenance of automated information systems in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Analyzing existing computer security programs for vulnerabilities and weaknesses, translating training needs into effective educational media.
  • Managing computer incident coordination and notifications with the local Network Enterprise Center (NEC) and Computer Emergency Response Teams.
  • Generating analytical reports and processing information in accordance with program procedures.
  • Providing technical input and drafting documents to inform and enhance understanding of issues related to computer security incidents, including internal documentation, advisories, and technical papers.
  • Assisting with policy, programmatic, budgetary, and doctrine issues associated with Cybersecurity within the organization and in collaboration with other U.S. Government agencies and technical experts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related field AND ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in Cybersecurity, capable of leading cybersecurity initiatives on assigned programs with minimal oversight.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • Security + Certification.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret. Please note that U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Government Clearance.
