As a Cyber Security Specialist III, your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying extensive knowledge across critical tasks and leading significant assignments to:
  • Address all issues related to vulnerabilities and threats to Information Technology (IT) Systems, National Security Systems (NSS), and Automated Information Systems (AIS).
  • Implement the Department of Defense (DOD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and assist the System Security Manager (ISSM) in ensuring effective execution of associated security controls while reviewing all RMF documentation packages and system requirements.
  • Support Program Management Offices with Cybersecurity-related acquisition documentation needs (e.g., Cybersecurity Strategies) and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.
  • Facilitate the integration of Cybersecurity, COMSEC, and TEMPEST throughout the entire system life-cycle design, development, and deployment.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with the DOD Inspector General (IG) Cybersecurity Self-Assessment checklist and the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
  • Implement audit measures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, participate in organizational inspections and surveys of computer systems, and evaluate the adequacy of corrective actions taken.
  • Provide expert advice on complex and unique computer security systems, recommend approvals for various computer operations based on security guidelines, and offer alternatives to management to meet security needs aligned with organizational and mission requirements.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, implementation, and delivery of a formal training and education program for computer and information security requirements, as well as the operation and maintenance of automated information systems in compliance with applicable regulations and safeguards.
  • Analyze existing computer security programs for vulnerabilities and weaknesses that could benefit from group training, translating those needs into effective training and educational materials.
  • Manage computer incident coordination and notifications with the local Network Enterprise Center (NEC) and servicing Computer Emergency Response Teams.
  • Generate analytical reports and process information in accordance with program procedures.
  • Provide technical input and write documents to inform, prevent, and enhance understanding of issues related to computer security incidents, including internal documentation, advisories, and technical documents.
  • Assist with policy, programmatic, budgetary, and doctrine issues associated with Cybersecurity within the organization and in collaboration with other U.S. Government agencies and technical experts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field AND ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Subject matter expert in Cybersecurity with the capability to lead cybersecurity initiatives on assigned programs with minimal oversight from government leadership.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • Security + Certification.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret. Please note that U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Government Clearance.
