Fairfax Neonatal Associates is in search of a Board-Certified Neonatologist with recent experience as a Level III NICU Medical Director to enhance our thriving practice. Our organization is situated in Northern Virginia, delivering Neonatology services to a substantial health system that caters to a pediatric demographic exceeding 700,000. The available role will primarily focus on one of our community hospital locations.

As the Medical Director, you will oversee the efficient clinical operations of the Pediatric Hospitalist Program, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and acting as the primary liaison between the clinical practice and both administration and medical staff. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, supervise physicians, and guide a multidisciplinary team of non-physician providers. Upholding the utmost standards of ethical and moral conduct, you will act in the best interests of Fairfax Neonatal Associates, P.C., while supporting our mission, vision, and values aimed at optimizing patient health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and organize services rendered by both physicians and non-physician providers. Lead the development of medical services, including protocols, standard policies, and procedures, as well as managing all patient care-related activities.
  2. Ensure quality assurance and appropriateness of medical care and documentation; spearhead quality improvement initiatives.
  3. Supervise ongoing training and conduct performance evaluations for Pediatric Hospitalists and Nurse Practitioners. Establish annual performance improvement objectives focused on patient satisfaction, safety, and care.
  4. Set performance benchmarks, assess and provide feedback to clinical staff, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  5. Act as a mentor and facilitate the resolution of practice-related challenges among medical staff.
  6. Lead the selection, continuous development, and optimization of clinical systems and technologies that impact patient care.
  7. Engage with hospital administration on matters concerning financial performance, operational efficiency, quality, patient satisfaction, budgeting, and legal considerations.
  8. Communicate the group practice's mission to the community and manage community relations effectively.
