Position: Salesforce Enterprise Architect for Public Sector

Slalom is in search of a senior professional who can excel as an enterprise architect on Salesforce initiatives tailored for government entities. These initiatives are anticipated to be extensive, multi-cloud engagements with significant financial implications, necessitating effective cross-domain collaboration. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical leaders are essential for success in this role. You will have the chance to influence all facets of enterprise architecture, including:

  1. Business Architecture
  2. Technology Architecture
  3. Application Design & Integration
  4. Data Architecture
  5. Security Architecture
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented leader eager to tackle complex challenges and contribute to the evolution of cloud platforms and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in driving digital transformations and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by the public sector in implementing these solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrate business and technical architecture to form a comprehensive view of the enterprise; develop strategic roadmaps to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, facilitating discussions with client architects and business stakeholders, translating business goals into well-architected solutions.
  • Lead and mentor diverse teams, including client and partner resources, in the execution of complex, multi-cloud initiatives; oversee business, application, integration, data, technology, and security architecture.
  • Steer enterprise architecture on intricate projects by conducting workshops, design sessions, and coordinating teams of developers and architects.
  • Create, review, approve, and present essential technical documentation such as business capability maps, gap analyses, customer lifecycles, current and future state architectures, system context diagrams, business value assessments, and technical roadmaps.
  • Assist in solutioning and estimating the efforts required for each phase of large public sector programs, including the implementation of cloud platforms/services, custom development, integrations, and data migration.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as an architect designing intricate technical solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform and other cloud technologies for mid to large organizations, with a proven track record of leading digital transformations.
  • 4+ years of consulting experience in the public sector, including implementation experience with common enterprise software solutions (e.g., CRM, ERP, middleware), with increasing responsibility and management of junior technical resources.
  • Expertise in key areas of enterprise architecture, encompassing both business and technical architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile implementation methodologies.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to lead and influence vendors, partners, and colleagues.
  • Ability to advocate for enterprise architecture best practices within the public sector at various organizational levels.
  • Commitment to continuous learning of new technologies and industry trends, maximizing the potential of existing technologies to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; adept at developing materials and assets tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Strong presentation abilities; capable of effectively articulating and defending viewpoints to various stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
