Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Job Description

FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Receptionist / Front Desk professional to join our team in Columbia, MD. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient scheduling and appointments, handling multi-phone lines with ease
  • Collect and maintain accurate patient data, tracking referrals and ensuring timely communication
  • Act as a liaison between patients and physicians, disseminating information and facilitating smooth interactions
  • Process and log reports sent to doctors, ensuring timely and accurate communication
  • Collect payments and verify insurance, ensuring seamless billing and reimbursement processes
  • Coordinate mail distribution, sending benefits paperwork to billing companies and maintaining accurate records
  • Handle scheduling and communication, ensuring patients are informed and engaged throughout their care journey
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering phones and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Schedule patients, coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, and appointment reminders, ensuring timely and efficient care delivery
  • Collect new patient intake information, tracking clinic referrals and ensuring accurate data management
  • Fax reports to physicians, maintaining a log of incoming reports and ensuring timely communication
  • Verify insurance coverage and track visits, collecting copayments and ensuring accurate billing processes
  • Monitor mail, tracking Explanation of Benefits sent from mail and fax to billing companies, ensuring seamless reimbursement processes
  • Collaborate with the office manager and clinicians to ensure seamless scheduling and patient arrival
  • Support outreach and marketing activities, contributing to the growth and success of FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required
