Job Summary

Tao Group Hospitality is seeking a highly skilled Event Sales Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for maximizing the revenue potential of our restaurant and nightlife/lounge spaces in Chicago, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development: Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through outside sales calls, mailings, networking, and other sales strategies.
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate all event activities to ensure that they meet the client's desired specifications.
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional service to clients from the time of booking to the actual event.
  • Revenue Management: Assign group function space effectively to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Account Management: Maintain established customer relationships and generate new relationships during events.
  • Event Execution: Ensure that all events are accurately costed and deliver profit at company-agreed margins.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with event/banquet staff, clients, and other stakeholders to coordinate event details and ensure client satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent/College Degree with an emphasis in hospitality and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience in catering sales/banquet management in restaurant, nightclub, hotel, and/or special event sales.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and good positive energy throughout the day.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, move quickly through work, and push and lift up to 25 lbs.
