We are seeking a skilled Hardware and Compliance Engineer to join our team at Copeland.

About the Role

This is a Senior-level position that requires expertise in hardware design, validation, and compliance testing. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building test systems, executing product validation, characterization, thermal, and compliance tests.

You will work closely with our global engineering teams, external test labs, and sourced product vendors to provide test and validation support. Your duties will include:

  • Participating in keeping our engineering department, lab equipment, and procedures up-to-date on advancing global EMC product safety and environmental requirements.
  • Setting up and conducting EMC, thermal, environmental, and product safety tests in support of agency and regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting Characterization testing of new and existing products.
  • Working with advanced diagnostic equipment to help validate new components and new designs.
  • Generating well-written technical reports and communications to support hardware validation as well as EMC, product safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Designing and constructing custom test fixtures, including mechanical build, electrical wiring, and generating Ladder Logic test applications.

Responsibilities may also include:

  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Maintaining accurate records of test results and data.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An Associate's degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience with basic electrical system wiring.
  • Experience with a programming language.
  • A proven track record of success in a similar role, preferably with experience in hardware design validation testing, hardware characterization testing, and product safety testing.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Years of experience in hardware or compliance-related fields.
  • Previous experience designing and/or constructing hardware and/or EMC and/or product safety test systems.
  • Proficiency in PACSystems RXi systems and Ladder logic.
  • Familiarity with EMC, product safety, and/or environmental standards.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
