Position Title: Lead Engineer, Customer Portal Solutions

United States Cold Storage (USCS) stands as a prominent entity in the realm of third-party logistics, specializing in cold chain solutions. The Center of Digital Excellence (CoDE) represents the IT sector of USCS, tasked with managing the comprehensive digital landscape of the organization. Our responsibilities encompass the development, management, and support of both on-premises and cloud infrastructures, custom software applications, vendor integrations, and cybersecurity measures. This includes various systems such as ERP, Warehouse Management, Data Warehousing, Data Science, Automation Integrations, and our Customer Portal.

Position Overview:

As a leader in third-party logistics, our commitment is to safeguard our clients' inventory throughout the cold chain process. It is essential for us to provide our clients with insights regarding the status of their products and the efficiency of inventory movement. We have initiated a project aimed at reimagining and reconstructing a state-of-the-art customer portal. This portal aims to deliver a contemporary user experience by utilizing natural language processing and dynamic, contextualized content, enabling our clients to easily access information or receive relevant updates. Furthermore, this initiative will serve as a foundation for providing APIs and integration points for our clients' systems to connect with ours. We are seeking a Lead Engineer to help realize this vision of enhancing customer experience through this innovative customer portal project. In this capacity, you will oversee the design, development, delivery, and continuous enhancement of the new customer portal. Success in this role requires collaboration with business stakeholders to consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience for both our end users and internal customer experience teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide direction and mentorship to the development team throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct code evaluations, troubleshoot technical challenges, and guide team members to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • System Integration: Formulate strategies for integrating the Power Platform with existing systems and data sources, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability. Identify potential risks and devise mitigation strategies.
  • Power Platform Expertise: Utilize your extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents, to design innovative and efficient solutions. Experience with low-code platforms will be advantageous.
  • Solution Architecture: Collaborate with enterprise architects and other technical stakeholders to ensure alignment of the Power Platform architecture with the overall enterprise architecture framework. Adhere to best practices, security standards, and data governance policies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage closely with business users, data analysts, and other stakeholders to comprehend their needs, gather requirements, and design solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly convey technical concepts and present architectural recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • SDLC Oversight: Supervise all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring continuous automated delivery pipelines and quality assurance.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the monitoring and support of the live system to guarantee high availability and reliability in production.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest advancements in the Power Platform ecosystem, including updates, new features, and best practices.
  • Technology Assessment: Proactively evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for their adoption when appropriate.

Position Specifics:

  • Location: Camden NJ, with variable work hours.
  • Reports To: VP of Technology.
  • Travel Requirements: 15%.
  • Employment Type: Full-Time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead on customer-facing web-based solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform components and web technologies.
  • Experience in designing or collaborating with designers to create exceptional user experiences.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, workflow design, and interface development within the Power Platform.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, data governance, and security best practices.
  • Experience with system integration, including connecting Power Platform with various data sources and APIs.
  • Experience in delivering customer experience solutions in the 3PL or related industry is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor development teams.
  • Experience with performance optimization within the Power Platform.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power Platform or related technologies are highly desirable.
  • Experience with other low-code platforms is a plus.
