Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and input attendance records and discipline data
  • Provide student interactions and general assistance
  • Help with nursing needs when the nurse is not available
  • Advising students of changes in transportation plans
Communication
  • External communication: answer phones, help parents in the office, manage online postings, and generate emails to parents
  • Internal communication: greet and help in the office, manage internal phones, generate emails to teachers, and communicate with maintenance as needed
Paperwork and Organization
  • Collect and manage paperwork
  • Assist with parent organization tasks, including yearbook, picture day, student supplies, and other tasks as needed
  • Organize mailings - paper and electronic
  • Manage student and substitute teacher files
  • Check in substitute teachers in the morning
  • Organize field trip requests, permission forms, payment, transportation, and lunches
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' prior experience in assistant to a high-level school administrator or corporate executive
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to a high level of confidentiality
  • Exceptionally capable in both written and oral communication
  • Excellent organizational skills while still exhibiting a high degree of flexibility
  • Technologically savvy-familiarity with Google Drive and Veracross a plus but not required
  • Able to make quick decisions, take initiative, and prioritize tasks
  • Passionate about the mission and vision of the school
  • Warm and personable with a good sense of humor and considerable patience
  • High-energy and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere
