About the Role
Wilcox Industries is seeking a dedicated Incoming Quality Control Mechanical Inspector to enhance our commitment to supporting national defense and military services. This full-time position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule during daytime hours. The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Quality Assurance and collaborate closely with both the Engineering and Purchasing departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold the Quality Management Systems.
- Conduct thorough quality control inspections, evaluations, and assessments of incoming materials from external suppliers.
- Examine components, materials, and products upon arrival from vendors or external service providers.
- Interpret blueprints and adhere to specified instructions.
- Possess a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Utilize various measuring tools, including Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Micro-Hite, Optical Comparators, and Hardness Testers.
- Employ statistical process control methodologies.
- Manage nonconforming items effectively.
- Ensure proper collection and maintenance of Quality Records.
- Facilitate communication with internal stakeholders regarding the Quality System and ISO 9001:2015 certification.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced Quality role is preferred, with manufacturing experience being advantageous.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with measuring instruments is essential.
- Experience with PC-DMIS (CMM) is a plus.
- Skilled in data collection and analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems is required.
- Regular on-site attendance is essential for this role.
- As a defense contractor, this position necessitates access to export-controlled technology; candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to commencing work.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
