As a Senior Virtualization Solutions Engineer within PNC's Virtualization Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in our technology initiatives. This position requires regular in-office presence.

Key qualifications include extensive expertise in VMware, Cisco UCS, and Pure technologies.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and deploying infrastructure within a large-scale enterprise or financial services environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere and associated tools.

• Proficiency in storage area networks (SAN), storage management principles, zoning, and best practices for data security.

• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

• Solid grasp of network protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, and VLANs.

• Strong knowledge of IT security principles and compliance frameworks relevant to the financial services sector (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA).

• Experience with IT service management (ITSM) and change control methodologies such as ITIL.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Commitment to established change control procedures for infrastructure modifications, including documentation, approvals, and implementation.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic and demanding environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of advanced and complex technologies, selecting suitable platforms, integrating, and configuring solutions. Utilize technical expertise and industry experience to design, build, and maintain technology solutions.
  • Develop software components and hardware for innovative technology projects, aligning them with business strategies and objectives.
  • Advise junior team members on complex issues and best practices.
  • Conduct systematic analyses of intricate client requirements within the traceability framework and resolve any functional challenges encountered.
  • Oversee the quality of complex project deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic – Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years), and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Problem Solving – Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university/college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required.
