Role Overview:

  • Oversee and drive intricate Cloud technology projects that have a significant impact across the organization.
  • Serve as a pivotal contributor in automating the setup of Cloud Infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Establish standards and best practices for engineering and large-scale technological solutions.
  • Design, enhance, and document the engineering components of the Cloud platform.
  • Lead discussions on industry best practices and assess how emerging technologies can empower the Cloud technology team to meet objectives and spearhead new projects.
  • Evaluate and scrutinize complex, large-scale Cloud technology solutions to align with strategic business goals and address technical challenges requiring thorough analysis of various factors.
  • Collaborate with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry organizations to resolve intricate technical issues and achieve project goals.
  • Develop and enable Cloud infrastructure, automating orchestration for GCP within the enterprise.
  • Work within a globally distributed team to deliver innovative and robust Cloud-centric solutions.
  • Engage closely with product teams and vendors to design and implement Cloud services that meet client expectations.
  • Partner with architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of cloud-based systems.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify the root causes of Cloud-related issues, recommending and implementing timely solutions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 14+ years of experience in Software Engineering or equivalent through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a proven ability to construct complex infrastructure programmatically using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and GitHub.
  • Strong knowledge of GCP networking services, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, Virtual Network (Vnet), and Cloud Load Balancing.
  • Familiarity with Cloud service offerings related to Data, Analytics, and AI/ML on GCP.
  • Demonstrated experience with at least three of the following key services: Big Query, Composer, Vertex AI, Document AI, Agent Builder, DataProc, Data Catalog, Notebook.
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols, security, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools for network provisioning and configuration.
  • Knowledge of Cloud service offerings related to Security, Data Protection, and policy implementations.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud computing concepts such as landing zones and Blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud certification on GCP.
  • Exposure to Cloud governance and logging/monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Proficient in container-based solutions, with experience in large-scale Kubernetes infrastructure build-outs and service provisioning in Azure or GCP.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Shell, Python).
  • Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and load balancing concepts, along with exposure to database management, cloud security, Active Directory, authentication methods, and RBAC.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Capability to effectively engage with partners in a multicultural environment, demonstrating co-ownership and accountability within a matrix structure.
  • Focus on delivery and adaptability to a fast-paced enterprise environment.
