Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Human Resources to join our team at Highline College. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our college's overall objectives and promote a diverse, positive work culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the college's mission and goals
  • Provide executive-level guidance and direction on human resources issues and policies
  • Lead efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the HR department
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable HR regulations and laws
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, human resources management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience supervising or managing a human resources function in a private, governmental, or college environment
  • Experience operating in a union environment and conducting union contract negotiations
  • Understanding of personnel practices and state and federal laws relating to classified personnel and affirmative action
  • Certifications in Title IX and knowledge of the Deputy Title IX Coordinator role
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field and/or certification by SHRM or HRCI
  • Human resources management experience in community or technical colleges in Washington State
  • Experience managing or supervising an operational work unit outside of Human Resources functional areas
