Responsibilities
The AR Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of billing and collection for their financial class. They will bill and adjust patients in their appropriate financial class, verify billings based on regulations set forth by providers, and communicate with patients via phone and in person to discuss rejection or potential eligibility. They will also review and work trial balance monthly, train Accounts Receivable Coordinators, track progress of accounts in files and computer, identify trends in pay sources, refer problem accounts to supervisors, provide reports to supervisors, and sort mail and distribute appropriately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Minimum three-year experience with computerized billing systems (ADL a plus)
- Knowledge of Institutional Medicare Billing Regulations and Requirements
- Computer proficiency in DDE Medicare system, CWF, Excel, and Word required; ADL/Sigma care, Ability-EASE, and Assurance preferred
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Third-Party Billing Regulations and Medicare and Medicaid system billing and adjustment procedures
- Knowledge of compliance and HIPAA practices and procedures
- Possess good organizational skills
- Ability to work high-volume workloads
