Position: Facility Security Officer

Department: Operations

Reports to: Security Manager

FLSA Status: Full-time, Hourly, Non-exempt

Summary:

ASM Global is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Facility Security Officer to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities. The Facility Security Officer will oversee access control, conduct regular patrols, and respond to safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises as per schedule; respond to incidents and emergencies following established protocols.
  • Manage entry and exit points by locking and unlocking doors as necessary, ensuring the facility is secure when unoccupied.
  • Verify visitor credentials to ensure authorized access to the facility.
  • Receive and verify deliveries, ensuring the accuracy of incoming goods.
  • Complete daily reports as required.
  • Assist guests and staff as needed, providing support and information.
  • Oversee lost and found items.
  • Conduct alcohol identification checks during events.
  • Perform inspections of fire safety equipment.
  • Maintain logs for company vehicles and manage the checkout process.
  • Issue parking citations in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure flag displays are maintained as instructed.
  • Respond promptly to communications via radio and telephone.
  • Document maintenance issues observed during patrols.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Fluency in English is required.
Computer Skills:
  • Basic computer skills are necessary for using email applications, timekeeping systems, and video monitoring tools.
Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • A background check may be necessary.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position include:
  • Regular movement throughout the facility; effective communication is essential.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, and be capable of walking long distances and climbing stairs. Physical requirements include the ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • This position is part of a Union and is subject to the terms of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
