Senior Financial Strategist, AWS Analytics Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is in search of a Senior Financial Strategist to play a pivotal role within the AWS Analytics Services team.
This position will be responsible for comprehensive financial oversight, including P&L management and strategic planning for Analytics services. Moreover, this role will spearhead the launch of innovative Analytics features and enhance processes throughout the organization.The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills, adeptly manage multiple time-sensitive projects within a complex organizational structure, and navigate risks and opportunities.
The individual will also exhibit strong partnership capabilities and collaborate efficiently with key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning initiatives; develop intricate financial models and analytical tools to assess overall financial performance.
- Oversee an Analytics service from inception to completion, influencing business decisions that drive revenue and capital expenditures.
- Support the launch of strategic new features and respond to ad-hoc requests, assisting finance and business leadership with various inquiries.
- Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency enhancements, including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream teams.
Collaborate with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, eliminate obstacles, and enhance the reliability and efficiency of reporting.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, computer science), or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).
- 5+ years of experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and developing/implementing escalation plans.
- 5+ years of experience in addressing complex business challenges by delivering precise and timely financial models, analyses, and recommendations that yield significant business impacts (e.g., financial savings, operational enhancements, or customer benefits).
- MBA or CPA.
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience in delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting data results.

Compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
