Field Service Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and self-reliant Field Service Technician to become a vital part of our team. This role is essential for those who possess expertise in AC/DC voltage, DC current measurement, and have a foundational understanding of both digital and analog systems, as well as relay operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Executing comprehensive start-up activities at project locations and meticulously documenting all work and testing performed.
- Installing and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems provided by Tesco Controls.
- Utilizing knowledge of PLC control systems to troubleshoot automated processes and the equipment involved.

Essential Functions- Configuring parameters and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Diagnosing instrumentation and control systems using electrical ladder diagrams.
- Calibrating and correcting control loop malfunctions, while participating in maintenance and production activities related to instrument systems.
- Verifying the accuracy of various gauges and measuring instruments, documenting failure rates as necessary.
- Conducting start-up commissioning for pump and motor controls.
- Performing loop checks from field devices to monitoring systems.
- Inspecting, commissioning, and calibrating instrumentation and analytical sensors.
- Executing repairs and installations of electronic equipment such as industrial controls, transmitters, and PLCs.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel as required and availability for on-call shifts.
- Familiarity with digital multimeters and basic power tools.
- Experience in confined space work and elevated work environments.
A college degree is preferred, although candidates with relevant experience and a high school diploma will also be considered. Experience in team environments and familiarity with safety protocols and operational manuals is essential.
Physical RequirementsCandidates must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Climb ladders and stairs safely.
- Enter confined spaces as needed.
