About Clark's Oyster Bar

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Clark's Oyster Bar in Montecito, California. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation of our desserts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the pastry kitchen team to achieve high standards of quality and service.
  • Develop and implement new dessert menus and recipes to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless execution of menu items and special events.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pastry Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel.
  • Proven track record of success in leading and motivating a team to achieve high standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
