Pastry Chef Job Summary

Hotel Californian is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for leading the pastry department and ensuring the highest quality of pastry production. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to develop new dessert and pastry products, and assist in the recruitment and training of new Pastry Cooks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the pastry department, ensuring high-quality production and efficient operations.
  • Develop new dessert and pastry products, working closely with the Executive Chef.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new Pastry Cooks.
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure employees adhere to safety and health standards.
  • Manage employee performance and development through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Create and implement new pastry items in all outlets.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of pastry management experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Culinary school education.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly resourceful and innovative with a refined palate and high standards of excellence.
