Director of Development and Communications

The GLBT Historical Society is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and making accessible LGBTQ history, culture, and arts. Founded in 1985, the society has gained international recognition as a leader in LGBTQ public history.

A new opportunity has arisen for a Director of Development and Communications to join our team. This role will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies, with a focus on engaging San Francisco and LGBT funders.
  • Supporting the establishment of our new Museum location on Market Street, which was recently purchased by the City of San Francisco.
  • Reporting directly to Executive Director Roberto Ordenana.
  • Leading a team of two staff members.
  • Working in a hybrid model, requiring regular presence in San Francisco.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience in developing and executing successful fundraising campaigns. You will also have a strong understanding of the local community, particularly in San Francisco.

We offer a competitive salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
