Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Health System Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Research and Development Service, this individual will provide critical support and administrative oversight to the R&D program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support and administrative oversight to the R&D program
  • Collect and analyze data to inform program decisions
  • Recruit and manage subjects for clinical trials
  • Provide high-level administrative support for projects in a research setting
  • Coordinate the effectiveness of the R&D program through evaluation and recommendation of program strategies, modifications, budgeting, or improvements
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization
  • Experience in planning, implementation, and coordination of a healthcare delivery system
  • Ability to apply analytical/evaluative methods and techniques in relation to the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations
  • Ability to recommend solutions to improve program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity
  • Ability to express information in a succinct and organized manner to all levels of an organization
Education

A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. if related
